  4. I hope you'll enjoy this sampling of FRACTION FONTS for Windows. 
  5. But, before you begin to experiment with them, please take time to 
  6. read this brief document.
  7.  
  8. FRACTION FONTS are intended for use with Adobe Type Manager(TM). 
  9. If you don't already have ATM, there's no sense going through the 
  10. installation and calling up the information/demonstration file 
  11. FRACFONT.WRI. It looks like gibberish without ATM.
  12.  
  13. If demand is sufficient, I will furnish FRACTION FONT Windows 
  14. screen fonts (.FON files), but I'm resisting it. I believe ATM is 
  15. the single greatest supplement available for the Windows 
  16. environment and can't imagine using Windows without it. FRACTION 
  17. FONTS are intended to utilize ATM's power.

  20. GETTING STARTED  . . . . .
  21.  
  22. Okay, let's get going. First, what's stored in FRACFONT.EXE?
  23.  
  24.     1.  !README!.TXT -- The ASCII file you're reading.
  25.  
  26.     2.  FRACFONT.WRI -- A four-page information/demonstration 
  27.     document that shows and tells all about FRACTION FONTS for 
  28.     Windows. Open it in Windows Write after you've installed the 
  29.     FRACTION FONTS.
  30.  
  31.     3.  TIF____B.PFB, TIF____B.PFM, TIF____E.PFB, TIF____E.PFM -- 
  32.     These are the FRACTION FONT PostScript Type 1 fonts and their 
  33.     font metric files.

  35.     4.  COREL.TXT -- An ASCII file that provides instructions for 
  36.     modifying CORELDRW.INI so FRACTION FONTS will work correctly 
  37.     in Corel DRAW!
  38.  
  39.     5.  TIF____B.WFN, TIF____E.WFN -- These are FRACTION FONTS in 
  40.     Corel's WFN format for use in Corel DRAW! COREL.TXT contains 
  41.     the instructions and entries necessary to be added to your 
  42.     CORELDRW.INI file to allow FRACTION FONTS to work in this 
  43.     fabulous application.

  45.     6.  ORDERFRM.WRI -- An order form for your use if you'd like 
  46.     to purchase additional FRACTION FONTS. There are lots more, 
  47.     the collection is constantly growing, and they're priced 
  48.     fairly.

  51. INSTALLATION  . . . . .
  52.  
  53. The easiest way to install FRACTION FONTS is to let ATM do it.
  54.  
  55.     1.  Activate ATMCNTRL.EXE to bring up the ATM Control Panel 
  56.     interface. If you have ATM as an icon on your Windows Program 
  57.     Manager, double-click on it. Otherwise, click on "File" on the 
  58.     menu bar, select "Run...", then type in ATMCNTRL.EXE and hit 
  59.     Enter.
  60.  
  61.     2.  You should now be looking at the ATM Control Panel. Click 
  62.     on the "Add..." button.
  63.  
  64.     3.  When the "Add ATM Fonts" dialog box opens, scroll and click 
  65.     through the "Directories:" list until you reach the drive and 
  66.     subdirectory where you've opened FRACFONT.EXE.
  67.  
  68.     4.  In the "Available Fonts:" scroll box you'll see 
  69.     TmsFraction:b and TmsFraction:e listed. Highlight both of 
  70.     these fonts, then click the "Add" button.
  71.  
  72.     5.  Finally, exit the ATM Control Panel, exit Windows, then 
  73.     restart Windows as you normally do. The FRACTION FONTS are now 
  74.     available for all of your Windows applications.

  77. INSTRUCTIONS  . . . . .

  79. Instructions for using FRACTION FONTS are in FRACFONT.WRI. Take 
  80. time to open this document, print it out, and play with it 
  81. on-screen before using FRACTION FONTS in your favorite 
  82. applications.

  84. Instructions for using FRACTION FONTS in Corel DRAW! are in 
  85. COREL.TXT. You'll have to read this file and copy two lines of 
  86. text into your CORELDRW.INI file before FRACTION FONTS will work 
  87. in Corel DRAW!

  90. SHARING FRACTION FONTS  . . . . .
  91.  
  92. I encourage your sharing FRACFONT.EXE with your friends. All I ask 
  93. is that you pass it along in its entirety (not just the fonts) so 
  94. they'll have access to the installation instructions. (And, of 
  95. course, the Order Form, my CIS number, and my mailing address.)

  97. Also, if you have any MAC-using friends, give them a FRACTION 
  98. FONTS for Windows demonstration. If there's sufficient interest, 
  99. I'll make FRACTION FONTS available in Macintosh format as well as 
  100. the current Windows 3.0 format.
